» Dr. Pamela Roberts
Dr. Pamela Roberts represents a very elite group of women. She is one of just 100 female cardiothoracic surgeons in the country. As a member of the open-heart surgery team at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute since 2000, she brings outstanding clinical skills and a unique perspective on women’s heart health issues to our community.
Dr. Roberts grew up in Florida and received her medical education at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center and went on to complete her vascular and cardiothoracic surgery residencies at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.
Dr. Roberts and Dr. Peter Downing are partners in a local practice “Lawnwood Cardiothoracic Surgery.” Dr Roberts has opened a new service called “The Vain Clinic.” She is a strong advocate of raising awareness regarding the threat of heart disease in women. She was Chairwoman for the American Heart Association’s, “Go Red for Women Luncheon” in May of 2007, and has been actively involved in many charity functions for the American Heart Association.
